The invention relates to a mounting (10) that inverts automatically on inversion of an apparatus to which it is secured.
The apparatus includes a journal (12) rotatable securing a shaft (11) having secured thereto a mass (13). The mass (13) is radially spaced from the axis of the rotation of the shaft (11). A biasing spring (26) acting between the support (14) for the mass and a point fixed relative to the journal (12) provides an "over centre" biasing action, whereby to ensure that the mounting (10) only inverts when the apparatus to which it is secured tilts by more than a predetermined angular amount.
The advantage of the apparatus lies in providing a single mounting for e.g. a depth sensor, on an invertible article such as a reversible plough.
