A valve in which an elastic member (10) containing a normally closed slit (16) is adapted to be selectively stretched by displacement of an actuating member (18), such as to stretch open the slit (16) over the outlet end (4c) of a product discharge passage (5) and allow fluid product to be dispensed therefrom, release of the actuating member (18) allowing the elastic member (10), and hence the distorted slit (16), to return to its original configuration, thereby reclosing the outlet end (4c) of the passage (5).
