The holding pins (10) of plastic similar to the ankles, designed in particular for securing the furniture fittings on furniture, can be mounted by pressure or by insertion in a hole (16). The retaining lug comprises an elongate part (18) on the outer circumferential surface from which extend radially a plurality of continuous annular ribs (20) spaced lengthwise of the stud, and having a triangular cross section which forms a cutting edge retainer which tapers outwardly. The elongated portion (18) of the tenon (a), on the greater part of its length, a diameter substantially smaller than the diameter (d) of the corresponding hole (16).
