Thermostat comprising a housing, a switching unit accommodated in the housing which in an active condition can switch on a heating device and a control unit for the switching unit co-acting with a temperature sensor (7) and comprising a clock unit, a comfort temperature setting means, a wait temperature setting means (22) and a comfort time setting means (24), wherein the control device uses the set comfort temperature as target temperature during the set comfort time and outside this time uses the set wait temperature as target temperature. In the mounted position of the thermostat the wait temperature setting means (22) and the comfort time setting means are inaccessible, the comfort time setting means (24) is a time period setting means and a switch-on (17) means connected to the control device and accessible from outside is arranged on the housing, through operation of which the comfort time begins.
