摘要:
A combustion clarimeter comprises a glass tube esp. 30mm dia. and 230mm in length, contg. a combustion chamber between two cooling coils. The coils are supplied through "Sovirel" (RTM) end caps (10mm) forming the closures of the glass tube. The combustion chamber contains a liquid sump of >=2 cm3 capacity. This is filled with a sample from a pipette at a ground opening of 5mm dia, closed by a hround-glass stopper with a long handle. A thermometer is introduced near the inlet, via a PVC seal, which also holds the stopper in position. A capillary tube 30mm long and 1mm dia. connects the combustion chamber to one of the two coils. Electrodes produce a spark near this tube, and are constituted of a platinum wire entering from above and a platinum coil.
