摘要:
The interior of a the tire is divided into inner(6) and outer(7) annular chambers(6,7). During inflation of the tire air flows from the inner into the outer chamber, but when driving on a deflated tire the flow of air between the chambers ceases so that pressure is held in the inner chamber. A wall(2) separating the chambers from each other is vulcanized or bonded onto the inner wall(3,4) of the carcass(5) to form an airtight seal. The wall comprises a rubberized, non-stretchable canvas or a rubberized fine metal mesh. On the periphery of the wall there are radially inward facing bulge(2a) for holding an air valve(8). The valve shaft(11) has transverse bores(9) at the lower end which form a tangent with the axial bore(10) through the shaft(11). A sealing plate(12) at the lower end of the valve shaft has radially outward facing, pointed sealing lips(13). At the outer end of the valve there is a collar(14). A bush(15) holding the valve allows free movement and a compression spring(16) holds the valve with shaft and sealing plate in the open position to allow air passage between chambers(6,7).
