The utility model discloses a low-icing ground wire capable of ice melting through self-circulation. In a power transmission line, a conducting wire emits heat due to current loss and the temperature of the conducting wire is higher than that of a ground wire so that an overhead ground wire is iced most heavily. The low-icing ground wire comprises an outer stranded layer and an inner stranded layer, wherein the outer stranded layer is composed of a plurality of strands of outer common aluminum-clad steel wires which are distributed circumferentially, and the inner stranded layer is composed of a plurality of strands of inner common aluminum-clad steel wires which are distributed circumferentially. The low-icing ground wire is characterized in that at least one thickened aluminum-clad steel wire is stranded in the outer stranded layer to form a sparse uplift structure on a local surface, and a strand of insulated conducting wire is stranded in the inner stranded layer. According to the utility model, the outer common aluminum-clad steel wires are different from the thickened aluminum-clad steel wires in wire diameter, a low-icing structure which is not easy to hold water and be iced is formed, and the ice-melting workload is reduced; the operation of the power transmission line does not need to be stopped in the ice melting process; and the resistance of the ground wire is small so that the requirement for the capacity of a power supply is low during direct-current ice melting.
