The utility model discloses a serial port hard disk encryption and decryption device which comprises a host, a hard disk, a mainboard, an encryption and decryption card and a universal serial bus (USB) key, wherein the encryption and decryption card and the computer mainboard are connected through a serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) data line; and the USB key is connected with the encryption and decryption card through a data line. The serial port hard disk encryption and decryption device is compact in structure, small in size, small in occupied space and reasonable in wiring design.
