The utility model relates to an arc extinguishing device used for an outdoor pole mounted SF6 load switch, wherein the contact part of an arc extinguishing chamber and a static contact is of a plum blossom petal structure. The contact of the arc extinguishing chamber is of a plum blossom petal type, thus electric field is uniform, and the arc extinguishing device has good characteristics to current and is shorter in arc extinguishing time than a knife switch type, so the arc extinguishing device has a longer contact service lifetime than the knife switch type has.
