There is provided an event importance adjustment device capable of extracting an event reflecting the flow of a video content and extracting an event having a correlation, thereby extracting a scene reflecting the flow of the video content. The event importance adjustment device (10) includes: a digest scenario information storage unit (13) for managing digest scenario information on the event extraction condition, the extraction order, and the event importance adjustment point which serve as characteristics when expressing the flow of the video content; and a scenario importance adjustment unit (14) which inputs state information indicating the state of the video content, extracts an event in accordance with the digest scenario information, and adjusting the importance of the event.
