A multi-layer optical disc includes: a plurality of recoding layers formed on the disc; and a manage information region formed on at least a layer of the multi-layer recoding layers, wherein the manage information region includes a manage information required for recording or reproducing, and the manage information comprises state information respectively representing formatting information of each recoding layer and position information respectively related to the position which is to be formatted in each recoding layer.
