The invention is a device and method of realizing dynamic data bandwidth adjustment in transmission device, adding a control channel in relay link of the transmission device to describe the time gap occupying condition of the current service. The control channel completes dynamic time gap allocation on PCM line under the control of CPU. The device includes: control word processing circuit to complete extracting and inserting control information in control information in E1 link; time gap allocating circuit to complete separating voice time gap from Ethernet data time gap and recombining Ethernet data; high order data link control/media access control (HDLC /MAC) processing circuit to complete HDLC link processing, MAC frame integrity checking and MAC address comparing and learning of the Ethernet data; CPU interface circuit to realize time gap allocation control. The invention can dynamically adjust Ethernet data bandwidth and fully uses relay bandwidth resources.
