The invention discloses a thermo-sensitive film capable of being subjected to grayscale printing and a manufacturing method thereof. The thermo-sensitive film capable of being subjected to grayscale printing structurally comprises a BOPP base film with a smooth surface, a priming coat, a thermal insulating layer, a thermo-sensitive layer and a protective layer from top to bottom. The manufacturingmethod of the thermo-sensitive film comprises the steps of base material preparation, preparation of paint for coatings, and spreading. According to the manufacturing method, an existing thermo-sensitive film material coating formula is optimized, thus, the printing adaptability of the thermo-sensitive film is high, common label printing and complex grayscale image printing can be met at the sametime, the excellent coating fastness and wet friction resistance can be kept, and the good using value is achieved.
