The invention provides an AC and DC hybrid power distribution system and method through DC collection. According to the system, AC and DC converters are additionally arranged at the tail ends of a plurality of AC distribution feeders, all the AC and DC converters are connected through a DC side to achieve DC collection, and electrical interconnection of the AC distribution feeders can be achievedthrough DC collection; controllers are arranged at incoming line switches and DC collection positions of all AC distribution feeders, so that electrical quantity acquisition, incoming line protectioncontrol and communication with the AC and DC converters are realized; and the incoming line controller is in wireless communication with a DC collection controller. Based on the system, the AC and DChybrid power distribution method through DC collection comprises a current sharing control method and an emergency power supply mode switching method, and load sharing of the plurality of AC power distribution feeders is realized through the current sharing control method, and through the emergency power supply mode switching method, load uninterrupted power supply under any feeder fault is realized so as to comprehensively improve reliability of the power distribution system.
