The invention belongs to the technical field of transformers, and particularly relates to a novel high-performance transformer. In order to improve the heat dissipation efficiency of the transformer,the novel high-performance transformer provided by the invention includes a transformer casing, an iron core, and a coil. The coil is wound on the core post of the iron core. The transformer casing sleeves the iron core. The inner surface of the transformer casing contacts the outer surface of the iron core. According to the transformer provided by the invention, the iron core not only bears a magnetic path, but also bears high-efficiency heat-conducting components because the iron core is directly connected with the transformer casing (metal casing), which saves the amount of metal materials; in addition, the transformer provided by the invention has smaller volume, higher power density, and better economy than a traditional dry and liquid-immersed transformers under the same capacity; and the transformer is easier to install and maintain under certain conditions, and is highly practical.
