The invention discloses a preparation method and application of a catalyst for photocatalytic degradation of VOCs. According to the method, a solvothermal method is utilized, wherein a MoS2/Bi2WO6 photocatalytic material is prepared by changing the molar ratio of molybdenum to tungsten. The method is simple and easy to operate and high in yield, wherein the obtained catalyst is good in dispersityand has higher selectivity compared with pure Bi2WO6, so that the use amount of the catalyst is reduced, and the photocatalytic efficiency is improved; by means of to the MoS2/Bi2WO6 catalytic material prepared by the method disclosed by the invention, the use amount of MoS2 has obvious difference on the photocatalytic degradation rate of toluene gas at normal temperature; the degradation efficiency has the best effect when the molar ratio is 1:5, and the photocatalytic activity of the method is greatly improved compared with that of a pure Bi2WO6 material under the same condition.
