The invention discloses a preparation method and applications of solanesol-containing essence. The method comprises: (1) carrying out high-pressure homogenization treatment on a mixed solution of solanesol as a raw material and a tobacco solvent as a dispersing agent to obtain a homogenized solution, wherein the raw material accounts for 0.1-15% of the mass of the dispersing agent, the pressure ofthe high-pressure homogenization treatment is 10-200 MPa, and the temperature of the high-pressure homogenization treatment is-20 DEG C to 0 DEG C; and (2) blending the homogenized solution of solanesol and essence to obtain the essence containing solanesol. According to the invention, the process is simple and easy to obtain, the conditions are mild, and the high-pressure homogenization is performed under cooling, so that the oxidative deterioration tendency of solanesol is well avoided, and the undissolved or insoluble solanesol is dispersed in the common solvent of tobacco so as to achievethe application of solanesol in tobacco perfuming and achieve important practical significance.
