The invention discloses an adsorbent composition, a preparation method thereof, and an application of the adsorbent composition in polysorbate 80 refining. The adsorbent composition comprises, by weight, 30-99 parts of a first adsorbent, 0-70 parts of a second adsorbent and 0-10 parts of a third adsorbent; the parts by weight of the second adsorbent and the third adsorbent are not 0 at the same time; the first adsorbent is one or more of activated carbon, activated clay, attapulgite and diatomite; the second adsorbent is one or more of zeolite, a molecular sieve, silica gel, iron aluminum silicate, hydrotalcite, polyvinylpolypyrrolidone, croscarmellose sodium and macro-porous resin; and the third adsorbent is one or more of a zinc powder, an iron powder, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, barium oxide, zirconium oxide, hydrotalcite, calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. The adsorbent composition has a relatively good effect of removing impurities, colors and moisture in polysorbate80.
