The invention belongs to the technical field of fluorescent materials and in particular relates to a double-peak emission carbon quantum dot as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The carbon quantum provided by the invention comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 20-22% of N, 27-28% of O, 1.2-1.5% of Cu and the balance of C. Due to doping of N and C, the carbonquantum dot which is high in fluorescence intensity and has double-peak emission can be prepared. Embodiment results show that after ultraviolet excitation of 340nm, the carbon quantum dot provided by the invention has fluorescence emission of purple light and blue light at 400-450nm and 460-500nm respectively, and thus the carbon quantum dot is a typical double-peak emission carbon quantum dot.
