The invention discloses a preparation method of a supported catalyst for synthesis of 1,1,2,3,3-pentachloropropane. The preparation method comprises the following concrete steps: (1) selection of metal chloride or metal nitrate, wherein the metal element of the metal chloride and the metal nitrate is one or a combination of two or more selected from group VIII, group IB, group IIIA or group IVA; (2) selection of activated carbon, wherein the activated carbon is one selected from the group consisting of coconut shell activated carbon, shell activated carbon and wood activated carbon; and (3) preparation of the supported catalyst: firstly cleaning the activated carbon with deionized water, then cleaning the activated carbon with absolute ethyl alcohol, carrying out air drying, putting the activated carbon into a drying oven, carrying out drying at 100-120 DEG C for 2-3 h, and then loading the metal chloride or metal nitrate selected in the step (1) on the dried activated carbon through avapor deposition method or an impregnation method so as to prepare the supported catalyst. The preparation method is simple in process and convenient to operate; and as the catalyst is added into thepreparation process of 1,1,2,3,3-pentachloropropane, the conversion rate and selectivity of the product 1,1,2,3,3-pentachloropropane can be obviously improved.
