The invention discloses a catalyst with high selectivity for low-carbon olefin and a preparation method of the catalyst. The preparation method comprises the following steps that (1) a B-ZSM-5 molecular sieve matrix-1 is prepared by crystallization and calcination with a silicon source, deionized water, a template agent, an alkali source, a boron source and a seed crystal solution as raw materials; (2) NaOH and Al(NO3)3 are mixed with water to prepare a treatment solution, the B-ZSM-5 molecular sieve matrix-1 is added, and a B-ZSM-5 molecular sieve matrix-2 is prepared by stirring and roasting; (3) a B-ZSM-5 molecular sieve matrix-3 is prepared by ammonium exchange; and (4) a final ZSM-5 molecular sieve is prepared by pressing and sieving. The catalyst with the high selectivity for the low-carbon olefin and the preparation method of the catalyst have the advantages that (1) the prepared ZSM-5 molecular sieve can be used in an MTO process or an MTP process; (2) the prepared ZSM-5 molecular sieve has high total selectivity for C2-C4 olefin no matter in the MTO process or in the MTP process; and (3) the catalytic stability of the prepared ZSM-5 molecular sieve is improved.
