The invention provides an air inlet structure and a gas water heater. The air inlet structure comprises a water heater housing, wherein air inlet is formed in the water heater housing; a silencing part is arranged at the air inlet to attenuate the level of the noise transmitted from the water heater housing through the air inlet. According to the air inlet structure and the gas water heater, the silencing part is arranged at the air inlet, so that the noise generated during the operation of the water heater is reduced, and the comfort level of a user is improved.
