The invention relates to a volume measurement system used for a scraper conveyer. The system comprises a processor, a portal frame, a laser radar and an electricity meter, wherein the portal frame consists of two stand columns and a cross beam, two ends of the cross beam are independently connected with the tope ends of the two stand columns, the laser radar is arranged on the cross beam of the portal frame, and the laser radar and the electricity meter are independently electrically connected with the processor. By use of the volume measurement system and method used for the scraper conveyer,the system is scientific and reasonable in structure design, is convenient in operation, can be used for the volume measurement of materials conveyed by the scraper conveyer, has an accurate measurement result, makes up the defects in the prior art that conveyed materials can not be measured, and can favorably meet the requirements of practical application.
