The invention discloses a method for treating sulphur hexafluoride exhaust gas. The method comprises the following steps: (1) introducing the sulphur hexafluoride exhaust gas into a reaction column containing a defluorination agent, and performing a sulfur hexafluoride cracking reaction so as to obtain reaction tail gas, wherein the defluorination agent is a mixture of a modified mesoporous molecular sieve and silicon powder, and the modified mesoporous molecular sieve is a mesoporous molecular sieve which is obtained through combined modification by using alkali metal fluoride and alkaline earth metal oxide; and (2) introducing the reaction tail gas into an A-type molecular sieve and activated carbon sequentially, and performing harmless emission. The modified mesoporous molecular sieve is adopted as a catalyst for catalyzing decomposition of SF6, the catalytic reaction temperature of the catalyst is low, the reaction rate is high, the decomposition rate of sulfur hexafluoride is high, and then the tail gas is purified, so that continuous, efficient, harmless treatment of the SF6 gas is achieved.
