The invention provides a method for isomeric synthesis of 3-methylcrotonaldehyde by methylbutynol. According to the method, a catalyst used is a mixed catalyst which comprises a main catalyst, a cocatalyst and an organic acid; the reaction temperature is 70-105 DEG C under normal pressure, the selectivity of 3-methylcrotonaldehyde can reach 95% or more than 95%, the conversion rate of methylbutynol is 90% or more than 90%, and the yield is 85% or more than 85%. The method has the advantages that relatively few tail materials are produced, and for each batch of 260g raw materials, 4.96-7.2g oftail materials are additionally increased; the raw material, namely methylbutynol, has a low water requirement for water content, which is less than 1%, thereby facilitating the reduction of costs.
