The invention discloses glutaraldehyde modified bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin and a synthesis method thereof. According to the resin, glutaraldehyde serves as a graft monomer, hydroxyl of bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin forms ether bonds to be connected with the glutaraldehyde, and the glutaraldehyde modified bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin is formed. On the one hand, original properties of the bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin are reserved, and thus the modified resin has the high molecular weight, water resistance, and acid and alkaline resistance; on the other hand, the bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin and the glutaraldehyde form the ether bonds and alkyl long chains, and thus glueability of the bisphenol A formaldehyde phenolic resin and the glutaraldehyde which have rigidity is improved; and the synthesis method of the resin is simple, the raw materials are easy to obtain, and industrialization promotion is easy.
