The invention discloses an electric bed and a control method thereof. The electric bed comprises a bed main body, a power assisting mechanism, a first force sensor, a processor and a power mechanism.The power assisting mechanism comprises a mechanism capable of providing assistance to a user; the bed main body comprises a first bed plate and a second bed plate located in a same plane; the power mechanism drives the first bed plate and/or the second bed plate to rotate; the first force sensor is arranged on the power assisting mechanism which is mounted on the bed main body; and the first force sensor is in signal connection to the processor and the process is in signal connection to the power mechanism. A user is assisted to get up and lay down.
