The invention discloses a portable dynamic sounding tester which comprises a probe, a detection rod, a measuring rod, a hammer base, a heavy punch and a scale bar; the probe is fixedly arranged underthe detection rod; the lower end of the measuring rod is fixedly connected with the upper end of the detection rod; the hammer base is fixedly arranged on the upper end of the measuring rod; a guide rod is arranged on the top of the hammer base; the guide rod is in sliding fit with the heavy punch; the detection rod and the measuring rod are both arranged as hollow rods; the scale bar is located in the detection rod; the lower end of the scale bar is connected with the probe; the upper end of the scale bar extends into the measuring rod; an observing window is arranged on a side wall of the measuring rod. The invention also discloses a test method. The test method comprises the following steps: aligning the probe with a to-be-tested position and keeping the tester vertical; lifting the heavy punch to a preset height and then loosening the grip; punching the heavy punch into soil; repeating the previous steps; recording total punching times of the heavy punch every time when the probe is moved for 10cm; taking the tester out when the penetrating depth of the probe meets the requirements. The tester is small in volume, light-weight and portable.
