The invention provides a cyclic amide-isocyanate-based composition and an application thereof. The composition mainly comprises the following components in mass percentage: 0.5-90% of a cyclic amid compound and 0.01-45% of an isocyanate compound, wherein the cyclic amid compound has a structural formula (as shown in the specification), and R1-4 are independent hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl and aminostraight-chain or branch alkyl, the carbonic atom number of which is not greater than 12; and the isocyanate compound has a structural formula (as shown in the specification), and R is straight-chainor branch alkyl, the carbonic atom number of which is not greater than 20. By adoption of a cathode film forming additive combination formed by the cyclic amide and isocyanate compounds, a stable amide interface layer is generated on the surface of lithium metal, so that interface impedance can be reduced while the generation of lithium dendrites under heavy current is suppressed.
