The invention discloses a millipede bionic crawling equipment for detecting leakage of a deep-buried oil conveying pipeline in a desert area. The millipede bionic crawling equipment comprises at leastthree sections of mutually-connected millipede bodies, an audio sensor, a detector, a power supply battery, a tracking module and a data processing center; each millipede body is composed of two reversed mechanical crawling legs, and every two corresponding reversed mechanical crawling legs are fixedly connected through two leg connecting rods to form a mechanical foot; the audio sensor is used for detecting the oil conveying pipeline; the detector is used for detecting the oil conveying pipeline; the power supply battery is used for supplying power to crawling equipment parts; the tracking module is arranged at the front portion of the millipede bodies, and is used for detecting the oil conveying pipeline which is deeply buried underground so as to provide the basis of correct driving direction for a desert vehicle; and the data processing center is used for receiving the data information from the detector, processing and analyzing the received large amount of information which is not calculated and processed and transmitting the information back to a ground pipeline detection station. The invention further provides a method for detecting leakage of the deep-buried oil conveyingpipeline in the desert area. According to the equipment and the method, the problem of leakage detection of the deep-buried oil conveying pipeline in the desert depopulated area is solved, and automatic detection and data remote real-time transmission of the unmanned leakage detection equipment are realized.
