The embodiment of the invention discloses a video playing method. The method is applied to a terminal. The method comprises the steps of extracting image signals and audio signals of a video file whena user plays the video file; copying the audio signals of the video file; carrying out mute playing on the copied audio signals ahead of preset time; carrying out synchronous translation on the mutely played copied audio signals through utilization of a preset algorithm; and displaying translated audio content at preset positions of the images of the video file in a text form of a target language. The invention also discloses the terminal and a computer readable memory medium. Through application of the scheme, in a video playing process, voices are converted into texts, and the texts and thevideo images are displayed synchronously. The problem that in the existing technical scheme, the video file has no subtitle or the subtitles are not the language that the user is familiar with is solved, and user experience of the user in a video watching process is improved.
