The invention belongs to the technical field of arc detection, and discloses a method and a device for arc fault detection and warning. The method of the invention comprises the following steps: a current sampling unit samples the current signal of a main circuit at a certain sampling interval, and an operational amplifier circuit amplifies the current signal and transmits the amplified current signal to a main control unit; the main control unit de-noises the current signal to obtain current data; and the main control unit extracts the characteristic value of an arc fault according to the current data, and carries out arc fault detection and warning according to the characteristic value of the arc fault. Warning or tripping can be carried out more reasonably and accurately, and therefore,electric power fire accidents of air conditioners and other household electrical equipment can be reduced.
