A terminal device, a display system, and a control method of the terminal device are provided to improve the operability of the terminal device that adjusts the setting of a display device. The terminal device that communicates with the display device includes: an obtaining unit that obtains image data including a first image and a second image from the display device; a determination unit that determines whether or not the length of one side of a display area included in the terminal device is equal to or longer than a predetermined length; and a display control unit that causes, when a result of determination of the determination unit is positive, both the first image and the second image to be displayed in the display area, and causes, when the result of determination is negative, the first image to be displayed in the display area without causing the second image to be displayed.
