The invention provides a dual purpose insulating rod joint device. The dual purpose insulating rod joint device comprises a substrate and a dual purpose joint, wherein one end of the dual purpose joint is a U-shaped head, and the other end of the dual purpose joint is an electroscope joint; the electroscope joint is fixedly connected with the outer bottom end face of the U-shaped head, and extendsin the direction away from the U-shaped head; an accommodating groove is formed in the substrate, and the side wall of the electroscope joint is rotatably connected with the inner side wall of the accommodating groove, so that one end of the dual purpose joint is exposed out of the substrate, and the other end of the dual purpose joint is accommodated in the substrate. The insulating rod joint device provided by the invention has two functions of nameplate suspension and connection with an electroscope.
