A vibration damping device (20) includes: crank members (22) that can oscillate in accordance with the rotation of a driven member (15) to which a torque from an engine EG is transferred; and an inertial mass (23) that is coupled to the driven member (15) via the crank members (22) and that oscillates about a rotation center RC in accordance with the rotation of the driven member (15) and in association with the crank members (22). The vibration damping device (20) is designed such that the effective degree qeff becomes larger as the amplitude of vibration of an input torque transferred from the engine EG to the driven member (15) becomes larger.
