The invention relates to a motor vehicle (1), having an internal combustion engine (2) and an exhaust system (5) for taking away a combustion gas (5) of the internal combustion engine (2) to an outletopening (6) and having a detection device (17, 18) for generating a state signal (16) that describes an engine noise (4) of the internal combustion engine (2), and having at least one loudspeaker (11) and a control apparatus (14) that is set up to actuate the at least one loudspeaker (11) to produce a sound (13) at the outlet opening (6) on the basis of the state signal (16) and thereby to compensate for the engine noise (4) and/or to replace it with another engine noise. In a vehicle environment (8), the aim is for an advisory signal (19) to be output. The invention provides for the controlapparatus (14) to be set up to actuate the at least one loudspeaker (11) additionally independently of the state signal (16) on the basis of predetermined audio data (20) and thereby to use the at least one loudspeaker (11) to audibly output an advisory signal (19) described by the audio data (20).
