The invention relates to a compound for producing high temperature-resistant or refractory molded bodies consisting of a mixture of a refractory or high temperature-resistant inorganic powder, grains,and/or granulate, a pourable compound or a powder which is made of carbon or is free of carbon, and a binder, said binder consisting of a combination of tannin, lactose, fine-grain silicon dioxide, and aluminum powder. The invention also relates to the binder, to molded bodies produced from the compound comprising the binder, and to a method for producing same.
