The method is characterized by firstly carrying outqualitative analysis on the glucose in the iron stick yam by adopting an NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)-H spectrum and then carrying out quantitative analysis on the glucose and the fructose in theiron stick yam by utilizing HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography). According to the method for identifying the iron stick yam of Wen county, identification can be carried out by determining the contents of the glucose and fructose according to the characteristic that the contents of the glucose and the fructose in the iron stick yam of Wen county are extremely less, the iron stick yam in which the contents of the glucose and the fructose are not detected is the iron stick yam of Wen county, and the iron stick yam in which the glucose and the fructose are detected is not the iron stickyam of Wen county; the HPLC is adopted for determining the contents of the fructose and the glucose in the iron stick yam and judging whether the iron stick yam is the iron stick yam of Wen county ornot. Compared with the prior art, a geographical indication product-the iron stick yam of Wen county can be effectively identified, and the method for identifying the iron stick yam of Wen county hasvery strong specificity and good reproducibility, is accurate in detection and small in error.
