An emergency shutoff valve suitable for a gas pipeline comprises a valve body, an upper shell, a shutoff execution mechanism and a control module. The upper shell is located on the upper portion of the valve body, and the shutoff execution mechanism and the control module are arranged on the left side and the right side of the upper shell correspondingly. The valve body is provided with a valve shell, a valve clack and a valve rod. A valve seat is arranged in an inner cavity of the valve shell and divides the inner cavity of the valve shell into an upper cavity and a lower cavity, and a centerthrough hole communicating with the upper cavity and the lower cavity is formed in the valve seat. The lower end of the valve rod penetrates into the inner cavity of the valve shell, and the upper end of the valve rod penetrates into the upper shell. The valve clack is fixedly connected to the lower end of the valve rod. The emergency shutoff valve is characterized in that an annular groove is formed in the outer circle face of the valve rod, the shutoff execution mechanism is provided with a drive assembly and a rocker arm, a driving arm cooperating with the drive assembly is arranged at oneend of the rocker arm, and a hook is arranged at the other end of the rocker arm. According to the emergency shutoff valve, the problem that an existing emergency shutoff valve suitable for the gas pipeline suffers from pressure fluctuation of a pipe network, and consequently valve start and shutoff malfunction is caused is solved, and it is guaranteed that a gas supply system operates normally and safely.
