The invention discloses an ecological composite type water-permeable brick and a preparation method thereof. The ecological composite type water-permeable brick is prepared from the following materials in parts by mass, 20-30 parts of cement, 40-60 parts of ceramic pieces, 20-30 parts of ballasts, 1-5 part of short steel fiber, 5-10 parts of straw, 2-5 parts of additives and 10-20 parts of water.The additives include excitants, water reducers and colorants. The particle diameters of the ceramic pieces and the ballasts are 1-10mm, the length of the short steel fiber is 10-30mm, the diameter thereof is 0.2-0.5mm, and the length-diameter ratio is 50-100. The tensile strength is larger than or equal to 400MPa. The ecological composite type water-permeable brick has the advantages of stable water permeability performance and high strength.
