The invention relates to a video jitter detection method, a terminal device and a storage medium. The method comprises the following steps: S1, two adjacent frames of images are converted to grayscalespace; S2, the image is divided to multiple sub areas; S3, the actual displacement of each sub area relative to the two frames of images is calculated respectively; S4, interference from a moving object is eliminated through standard deviation calculation, and the number n of sub areas actually generating displacement is determined; S5, the jitter value between two frames is calculated; S6, stepsS1 to S5 are repeated, the jitter value between each two frames of images in L frames of images is calculated respectively, and the general jitter value KL of the L frames of images is set to be thesum of the jitter values between each two frames of images in the L frames of images; and S7, whether the KL is larger than a jitter threshold H is judged, if yes, jitter is generated, or otherwise, jitter is not generated. In comparison with methods such as an optical flow method and feature point matching, the calculation amount is smaller, the real-time performance is good, and excellent resistance against interference such as a moving object in a picture is achieved.
