Disclosed is a method for further processing and at least partially thermal forming a glass tube semi-finished product (1), comprising the steps of: providing the glass tube semi-finished product (1),wherein tube-specific data are provided for the glass tube semi-finished product; reading the tube-specific data (2-5; 30-31) for the glass tube semi-finished product (1); and further processing andat least partially thermal forming the glass tube semi-finished product (1). The process parameters during the further processing and at least partially thermal forming of the glass tube semi-finishedproduct (1) are controlled according to the tube-specific data (2-5; 30-31) of the glass tube semi-finished product (1). In this simple way, the further processing can be more efficiently adapted tothe respective characteristics of a glass tube semi-finished product to be processed or a relevant sub-section thereof, and the relevant characteristics of the respective glass tube semi-finished product do not need to be measured again. The relevant defects can be provided for further processing by a glass tube semi-finished product manufacturer in a simple manner.
