The invention relates to a distribution network maintenance time optimization method and system. Related data of each feeder device in the distribution network are acquired to generate a distributionnetwork maintenance scheme; and the distribution network maintenance scheme is set as a chromosome, a genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the pre-built distribution network state maintenance model to obtain the optimal maintenance time of each feeder, wherein the related data of each feeder device in the distribution network comprise the health index of a device on each feeder of the distribution network. The technical scheme provided in the invention solves the problem of large deviation of reliability prediction evaluation decision making under a small time scale, and can also guide and support the distribution network state maintenance work with a feeder, a substation or an associated device combined, and leap of a scientific, quantitative and economic maintenance technology is realized.
