The invention relates to a chemical synthesis method of ibudilast. 1-amino-2-methylpyridine iodide and isobutyric anhydride are used as raw materials; potassium carbonate is used as an acid-binding agent; in an aprotic nonpolar solvent system of toluene or xylene and the like, the refluxing, the water separation and a reaction are carried out; after the reaction is completed, the ibudilast is prepared through post treatment and refining; a yield is 62 percent. According to the method, the refluxing, the water separation and the reaction are carried out by using an aprotic nonpolar solvent; a feed ratio of the isobutyric anhydride is decreased; the solvent can be recovered and used in the same way, and is green and environment-friendly; the cost is reduced, and the chemical synthesis methodis more suitable for large-scale industrialized production.
