The invention relates to a method for determining the absolute position of a vehicle for the close-range positioning of the vehicle during the parking of the vehicle. An inductive positioning method is performed, wherein a first transmitter in the infrastructure or in the vehicle is excited to produce a positioning magnetic field and a second transmitter in the infrastructure or in the vehicle isexcited to produce a positioning signal. The positioning magnetic field and the positioning signal are received by a receiving device in the vehicle or in the infrastructure, and the absolute positionof the vehicle is determined on the basis of the received positioning magnetic field and positioning signal. In this way, especially exact parking of the vehicle, in particular of an electrically operated vehicle for inductive charging, is enabled.
