The invention relates to a method for preparing an alumina carrier or a composite oxide carrier through organic aluminum wastes. The method comprises the steps of after fully mixing 20 to 100 percentof organic aluminum wastes, 0 to 80 percent of component A and 0 to 10 percent of extrusion assistant agent, adding a peptizing agent into a mixture obtained through a step (a), kneading to form a plasticizer, and controlling the dry basis content of the plasticizer to range from 20 to 80 percent; carrying out extrusion moulding on the plasticizer, drying, and roasting to obtain the alumina carrier or the composite oxide carrier. The alumina carrier or the composite oxide carrier prepared through the method provided by the invention has the characteristics of simple structure, less water consumption, low cost, big pore volume and high mechanical strength, and is suitable to be applied to the field of various catalysts.
