The system comprises a camera and an ultrasonic probe, wherein the camera is used for acquiring picture information of the surrounding environment in the driving motion process; the ultrasonic probe is used for detecting the distance between the traveling crane and the wall body; the camera and the ultrasonic probe are connected with the PLC controller through a data transmission line; the PLC controller is correspondingly connected with a contact release switch, a driving device, a brake device and an alarm device through a signal transmission module; the PLC controller is connected with the remote control equipment through a wireless signal transmission module. According to the automatic braking and stopping control system for travelling crane, image information of surrounding environment in driving motion process is collected throughthe camera, meanwhile, the ultrasonic probe transmits the detected distance information to the PLC controller, the accuracy of the detection result is effectively improved, and the safety of the automatic brake stopping and the driving movement process is improved.
