The invention provides a power distribution network fault positioning method. Firstly, a topological structure taking a power supply as a starting point in a direction as same as the direction of current is generated according to the position of a fault indicator in a single-power single outlet line. Secondly, a topological matrix corresponding to the topological structure is constructed, and a fault information diagonal matrix corresponding to the fault state of the fault indicator is constructed. Finally, a fault position is judged by a matrix algorithm and transmitted to on-site operation and maintenance staff. According to the method, accuracy of final judgment results is improved, rapid positioning is realized, troubleshooting time is shortened, and power supply reliability can be improved.
