The invention discloses a starch adhesive for wooden furniture. The starch adhesive is mainly prepared from the following components in parts by mass: 100 parts of modified corn starch, 20 to 35 partsof polyvinyl alcohol, 25 to 40 parts of isocyanate and 15 to 22 parts of carboxyl styrene-butadiene latex. The starch adhesive is prepared by the steps of oxidizing and gelatinizing corn starch and then grafting vinyl trimethoxy silane, then mixing a polyvinyl alcohol solution, the isocyanate and the carboxyl styrene-butadiene latex to prepare the starch adhesive. The modified corn starch contains organic silicon so that the water resistance of the adhesive is effectively improved; the isocyanate and hydroxyl are crossly linked to form firm chemical bonds including a urethane bond, a urea bond and the like; meanwhile, carboxyl on the carboxyl styrene-butadiene latex can react with the isocyanate to form a water-insoluble net-shaped cross-linked structure; the isocyanate and the carboxyl styrene-butadiene latex have a synergistic effect and the water resistance of the starch adhesive is effectively improved; the invention provides the green and biodegradable adhesive.
