The invention discloses a control method and control system for a cooling system of a forced oil circulating air-cooled transformer. The control method comprises the steps that the top oil temperatureof the transformer, the current load of the transformer and the environment temperature are acquired, wherein the environment temperature is the temperature of the working environment of the transformer; according to the top oil temperature and the current load of the transformer, whether an oil pump needs to be started is determined; and if the oil pump needs to be started, the acceleration command of an oil pump motor is determined according to the environment temperature, and the acceleration command is sent to the oil pump motor to control the oil pump motor to drive the oil pump to run.According to the control method and the control system, the acceleration command of the oil pump motor is determined according to the environment temperature of the working environment of the transformer; the oil pump motor drives the oil pump to start according to the acceleration command; the oil pump constantly accelerates from an idle state to rated speed during the start-up process to ensureoil flow stability inside the transformer; and safe and stable operation of the forced oil circulating air-cooled transformer is ensured.
